In fulfillment of its mandate to provide additional funds to the health sector, the Kano State Health Trust Fund has extended its intervention to the College of Health Sciences and Technology with funds to purchase office equipments.
Apart from healthcare facilities, health educational institutions are among the category of beneficiaries that will be benefiting the intervention of the Agency as highlighted in its beneficiary guide.
Willing to secure befitting working environment for administrative works, the College requested the KHETFUND to support it with funds to equip its offices for the smooth running of its daily activities which the Agency disbursed N4,497,900 to the College as approved by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf.
In order to ensure judicious utilization of the intervention KHETFUND is providing to all the beneficiaries, the KHETFUND Executive Secretary, Dr. Fatima Usman Zahradeen, has led her supervision team to the College to inspect the equipments procured for transparency and accountability.
Speaking, Dr. Fatima charged management of the College to make sure the equipments procured are utilised according to the purpose they are meant for.
She pointed out that the KHETFUND was established to provide additional financial support to health facilities and health educational institutions on meaningful projects and programmes for the betterment of lives of the people of the state.
Dr. Fatima seized the opportunity to eulogised Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for his passion to uplifting the standard of healthcare system, pleasingly asserting that the commitment put in place by His Excellency is yielding superb and heartwarming results as transformation is explicitly seeing in the state.
She also commended the Commissioner of Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran Yusuf for his continued professional guidance, advises and support to the KHETFUND.
Speaking while receiving the team, the Deputy Provost of the College, Comrade Garba Haruna Abubakar thanked the Executive Secretary and her management in disbursing the said fund for purchasing the office equipments and promised to use them judiciously.
He maintained that the equipments would go a long way in providing conducive atmosphere to the administrative staff to carry out their official duties diligently that ultimately paves way to smooth teaching in the College so as to produce competent and skilled students that will contribute to the service delivery at the facilities upon employed to the state civil service.
The items purchased include laptops/desktop computers, a generator set, printers, file cabinets, power stabilizers, etc.”
